Inspector List

RE/MAX Lakes Realty always recommends inspections by appropriate structural, plumbing, and electrical professionals. Listed below is a partial list of available servicers. There are certainly others available.  RE/MAX Lakes Realty and its agents can in no way be responsible for suggesting any particular service provider, but may offer buyer assistance in procuring a provider.  RE/MAX Lakes Realty cannot be responsible for the quality or accuracy of any inspector’s work.

Real Estate brokers and agents are not qualified to advise buyers on radon or mold treatment or their health and safety risks.  Radon is an invisible and odorless gaseous radioactive element.  Mold is a general term for visible growth of fungus, whether it is visible directly or is visible when barriers, such as building components (for example, walls) or furnishings are removed.  An updated radon test is always recommended, and that because mold may be present in areas not viewable, that the buyer is recommended to also perform due diligence in inspecting for the presence of mold.

Okoboji Boat Works

Okoboji Boat Works in

Okoboji Boat Works is home to "The Fish Shack" and "The Inconvenience Store". Formerly a marina of thriving boat sales since 1890, OBW now offers up many different rentals, a 24 hour gas dock, excursion boats, and more. I remember the days as a child of fishing for crappie and blue gill here and along the docks of Smith's Bay. Though the scenery has changed, the outstanding fishing has not.

Kurio Kastle

Kurio Kastle in Spirit Lake

This place is one of the most fun businesses in the lakes area for kids, or adults who are creative, and likes to paint! Kurio Kastle is a pottery painting "palace," for anyone and everyone! You pick from an extensive array of pottery to paint, from cute animals, to mugs, and dishware. You can then stencil or draw on them, then paint it! Your masterpiece is then glazed, and put in the kiln to fire. After that, you pick it up, and take it home to enjoy! Its even a perfect place for birthday parties.

Haywards Bay

Haywards Bay in

Haywards Bay on West Lake Okoboji boasts low approaches and one of the few areas on West Lake to offer sand beaches. Renowned for the "bay of the flags", you will know you are in Haywards bay because of the all the American flags on the end of the docks. Fishing is great in Haywards Bay and the sunsets are one in a million. To get to Haywards Bay by car, one would drive the east side of the lake on Lakeshore Dr.
